16 eager volunteers out today

George has a new tool.
He'll use it to break up hard soil

In Helen's hands, the tool clears the way

Everyone gets busy defining the trail

Big logs and boulders keep hikers on the trail

Zac trims this log so it will fit better

Repairing another damaged step

This is very hard soil,
knee pads are a must

The social trail to the left of the tree
has been blocked

In many areas, we just left the trail alone

Drainage control was a big part
of our rehabilitation efforts

Just ahead and into those shadows,
a series of damaged steps needs our help

Saturday morning,
another excited group of volunteers assemble

We're back narrowing and defining the trail

Some sections are just too wide
and need to be narrowed

Work done yesterday
shows a very defined path

really needs our help

Our first priority is narrowing the trail

are in serious need of repair

Pulling rocks from the hillside to make repairs

to help us move the rock

And set it on a bed of crush

The next one will need a belay
to keep it from rolling downhill

And a rope puller to move it into place

The next rock is ready and in a sling

And Stef has it under control

Yes it is heavy, it's a 2 hander

By lunchtime we've done a lot of repairs

After lunch we start moving uphill
with Tracy clearing the way

These are the next steps in need of repair

We start with a bed of crush

Using rock bars and muscle
to move it into place

Excellent work.
We'll be back in 2 weeks to do more
